Press Release: Le Jardin des Matières Featured in Côté Sud Magazine
It is with immense pride that the entire team at Le Jardin des Matières shares with you our recent feature in the press! The beauty of authentic materials lies in their ability to enhance even the most daring architectural spaces. Recently, one of our flagship materials was selected for an exceptional project in the heart of Marseille, highlighted in the pages of the renowned Maisons Côté Sud magazine.

A "Radiant House" on the Hills of Roucas-Blanc
The magnificent report, written by journalist Anne-Laure Murier and photographed by Anthony Lanneretonne, showcases a fascinating building named "Maison Radieuse" (Radiant House). On a neglected plot in the highly sought-after hills of Roucas-Blanc in Marseille, architect Jérôme Pichoux made the most of the space.
Strongly inspired by Le Corbusier's brutalist architecture, the architect designed a house that embraces the rock, opening wide to nature. In this raw and verdant setting, the choice of exterior materials had to be impeccable, capable of withstanding the elements while adding a touch of Mediterranean elegance.
Our bejmat mosaic at the heart of the pool: exceptional craftsmanship
It is in the outdoor landscaping that Le Jardin des Matières has left its mark. Maisons Côté Sud magazine highlights our contribution by showcasing our bejmat mosaic at the bottom of the pool.

Bejmat, this traditional Moroccan tile similar to zellige, is appreciated for its subtle nuances and irregularities that catch the light in a unique way. In this swimming pool, the tiles undulate beautifully, creating plays of color between pink, yellow, and blue flat areas.
Why do our clients and architects choose bejmat for a pool in the South of France?
- Authenticity: It highlights a strong artisanal character, blending tradition and contemporary design.
- Durability: Fired in a kiln, the glazed terracotta is robust and perfectly suited to aquatic environments.
- Unique Aesthetics: The reflections of Marseille's water on these colored enamels create a true living work of art.
Technical innovation
For an excellent finish, we asked our artisans in Morocco to glaze the sides of the bejmats, and not just the top surfaces, to provide complete continuity of the green enamel at the angle between the pool and the pool deck.
