Terrazzo Flooring

We present to you one of our latest creations, installed in an apartment in downtown Marseille: a Terrazzo countertop, 6.5 meters long in an "L" shape, in a superb Venetian Red. Notably, this Terrazzo is a single piece, without visible seams, and has an exceptional thickness of 5 cm. Nevertheless, thanks to an innovative process developed by Le Jardin Des Matières over the course of its projects, this countertop has a reasonable weight, allowing for easy handling and installation by our teams.

This shade of red is particularly delicate: far from the clichés about the supposed aggressiveness of vivid reds, we are here in softness, something evoking both a certain femininity and an asserted Provençal character. The finish is satin, with an organic, sensual feel.

Bejmat pool

These Bejmats navigate between turquoise blues and greens and were inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech and its ceramic walls. We laid them straight on our rooftop floor (top band) while a herringbone pattern was chosen to adorn these two pools.

Le Zellige authentique — céramique émaillée artisanale marocaine

AUTHENTIC ZELLIGE

The beauty of traditional tiles called Zellige or Zelij lies in their colour nuances and depth, the way this ceramic captures and reflects light, but also, and above all, in their surface and flatness irregularities, their shine and colour depth. This is what gives them their soul, their beauty.

This is far from the industrial tiles that use the name and can be found in supermarkets or at other, supposedly specialized, retailers.

Glazed Zellige tiles (10x10) are flat and cut with bevelled edges so that there are no visible joints. All other formats are obtained by cutting the zellige after firing, with a sharp hammer, which explains the irregular edges characteristic of this material.
