Our Story
The Garden of Materials
This is the story of an encounter, that of a love between two people passionate about architecture, contemporary art, design, and travel. Between two adventurers for whom life is conceived by meeting cultures. For whom exchange and listening allow for building relationships and lasting creations together.
Franck & Benjamin created Le Jardin des Matières, a creative studio for architectural materials, based on these solid and invigorating foundations. And this is reflected in their compositions.
Le Jardin des Matières develops and offers furniture and accessories by utilizing a range of organic coatings combining modernity, mastery of artisanal and technological techniques.
Their network of applicators and architects, whom they train and closely monitor, dress all surfaces of public or private places with these same coatings to bring unique universes to life.
Their most beautiful work is the Le Jardin des Matières showroom, their living and creative space, disproving the old adage about cobblers' children. Perched on the Roucas Blanc hill in Marseille's 7th arrondissement, this residence spans a 600 m2 plot between lawn and centuries-old trees, offering a view of the Mediterranean from its rooftop. This original universe is the fruit of their travels. Reminding us alternately of Sifnos, Formentera, or even Marrakech, Le Jardin des Matières harmoniously combines the minerality of elements with organic and angular lines. We can find the materials they love: Terrazzo/Granito, Zellige, Bejmat, decorative Micro-Cement, cement tiles... on the emblems of this exceptional site: the Villa, the Grand Bain, La Montée du Jardin, the Rooftop... but also the works of their artists and their sculptural strength.
