Historically, "Beton Ciré" referred to a concrete slab polished and buffed with wax. This composite material, made of cement, sand, and gravel, evokes solidity, thickness, and robustness—structural qualities ideal for load-bearing elements.
However, in recent years, a new type of decorative coating has emerged, inspired by the aesthetic of polished concrete and traditional mortars. These new materials, thinner and enriched with modern additives, are called "decorative micro-mortars." They retain the raw beauty of concrete while offering a lighter and more precise application. A new approach to decorative coatings.
Over time, modern "Betons Cirés" gained popularity, but with them came recurring problems: rough surfaces, prominent and unsightly marks, and plasticized finishes due to the use of polyurethane varnishes. These flaws, almost synonymous with Polished Concrete, did not meet our requirements.
At Au Jardin des Matières, we wanted to go further. Our goal was to create a material that was aesthetic, functional, and pleasant to the touch, free from the traditional defects of Polished Concrete. Thus, after 7 years of research and experimentation, Béton Soyeux was born: an artisanal innovation designed to enhance your spaces.
Béton Soyeux: an exceptional millimetric coating. It stands out for its unique characteristics:
-Homogeneous aesthetic: ideal for floors, walls, and ceilings, it offers a uniform appearance, without marks or roughness.
-Natural resistance: intrinsically robust, it does not require PU varnish to resist indentation.
-Easy maintenance: a polished and impregnated surface for optimal stain protection, while retaining authentic minerality.
-Integrated water repellent: thanks to environmentally friendly additives, the material is waterproofed throughout its mass.
But what truly makes it unique is its silky texture, soft and warm to the touch. This sensation, similar to tadelakt, gives your space incomparable comfort and elegance.
