An invitation to travel and elegance

Design is often a matter of nuances and memories. For this exclusive collection, we drew our inspiration from the heart of Marrakech, more precisely from the vibrant walls of the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. This iconic, deep yet refreshing turquoise blue-green is now invited into your design projects to transform your spaces into true Mediterranean havens of peace.

The Art of Bejmat: A Legacy of Arab-Andalusian Tradition

Rooted in pure Arab-Andalusian tradition, Moroccan Bejmat takes its name from a small traditional dry cake from the city of Fez. More than just a covering, it is the result of ancestral know-how.

Each brick is hand-shaped by our talented collaborators in Morocco. It is this artisanal manufacturing that gives Bejmat its unique charm: imperfection becomes a signature. Each tile is unique, presenting variations in texture and relief that only the human hand can create.

Technical Characteristics and Dimensions

Originally, Bejmat comes in the form of a rectangular fired clay brick, natural or glazed. To adapt to all your technical and aesthetic constraints, we offer two distinct formats:

Format Dimensions Thickness Density per m²
Thin Bejmat 15 x 5 cm 1.5 cm ~135 pieces
Thick Bejmat 14 x 4.5 cm 2 cm ~145 pieces

The Secret of Shades: Firing

The magic of Bejmat happens during double firing, where temperatures rise to over 900°C. The captivating chromatic variations of the "Yves Saint Laurent" range are not by chance: they depend on the position of each brick within the kiln.

This thermal alchemy creates a palette of gradients ranging from crystalline turquoise to deep emerald green.

Installation: When the Craftsman Becomes an Artist

Installing Bejmat is not just a technical operation; it is a true artistic composition. The craftsman must play with the tones and nuances of each piece to create a harmonious and vibrant whole.

We have explored two major installation styles for you:

  • Straight Lay: For a modern and graphic look. We adopted it on our rooftop floor to highlight the architectural lines of the space.
  • Herringbone Lay: This classic pattern brings exceptional dynamism. As you can see in our recent pool projects, herringbone enhances water reflections and gives the pool unprecedented depth.

Note to designers: Glazed Bejmat is particularly recommended for wet areas and swimming pools, as its vitrified surface offers perfect water resistance while retaining the brilliance of its pigments under the sun's rays.

Why choose Bejmat for your projects?

  • Authenticity: A 100% artisanal product that tells a story.
  • Versatility: Ideal for interior floors, terraces, bathroom walls, or pool interiors.
  • Durability: Fired clay is a robust material that gains patina over time.
